What springs to mind when you think of home? As children, many of us picture a detached house with four windows, a door, picket fencing, and maybe a bush or two. The sun shines and white fluffy clouds drift across a clear blue sky. As adults, the concept becomes a little more complex.
For me, 'home' is a muddled concept—spanning four cities, three countries, and countless addresses, from my grandparents’ house on the North Dublin coastline to my current flat in East London. In Guzzle, this theme recurs in each issue, with writers like Eoghan Flynn capturing the shared experiences of Irish expats in London and
uncovering the unlikely spaces that foster a sense of community. I have loved curating these pieces and I’m excited to unpack our notions of home in the next issue.Open Call: Issue Three
For the third installment, we’re seeking fresh takes on the topic of home—whether global, environmental, or domestic. Contributions could range from recipes that reconnect us with our roots to stories that challenge stereotypes around the idea. There’s also space to address the complexities, such as how economic and political uncertainties influence our sense of place.

About Guzzle
Guzzle is an independent art and food publication founded in Dublin, Ireland. Over the past two years, we have delved deep into themes that matter, examining them through the lens of food. Despite being managed by a tiny team, Guzzle has earned multiple nominations, secured a spot in Ireland's 100 Archive two years in a row, and found its way onto shelves worldwide, from North America to South Korea.
